Stefano Proakis
Born in Rome in 1960, have been working as graphic designer and photographer.
I started taking pictures 12 years with a Voigtländer left me an inheritance from my father, and then, with the first diving courses (1976), was born the passion for underwater photography.
Diving instructor are the Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and diving and underwater photography since 1992.
Since 1993, the players practice of underwater photography at the national level, achieving excellent results: Regional Champion and Provincial Lazio for several consecutive years, most recently also in 2008; Italian Team Champion in 1999 and 2008, even the individual title with a total two gold medals.
Several podium finishes both in the individual teams in recent years.

I hold also the task of the Federal Coordinator for the players underwater photography of some Italian regions (Centre-Sud), are also technical underwater photography competitions.
I am part of the club's blue underwater photography from '99 to today, not consecutively.
I participated in several photo competitions with good results at international level.
I love this sport and found a very formative experience for the players an underwater photographer, both technically and personally, where direct comparison with other photographers in the same dive site, allows you to compare shots and views of the same place: the growth technique and composition is so much faster, especially compared to an individual path.
Among other things, in the agony of underwater photography of our Federation, we have a chance to meet with different samples, some even worldwide, of which our nation can be proud.
In addition to this passion, having a heart for nature, I take care of nature photography "walking" (as he says a close friend photographer). I work with some photo agencies, I have published articles in magazines and pictures of sull'Almanacco.
I worked with the following equipment: Nikonos III 15mm. old type and Sekonic light meter, two Ikelite 200 and a flash "IN" of CFS, a case-Underwave Igloo for Nikon F90X subsequently replaced dall'Igloo Pro for Nikon F5. I own the original Nikkor lenses 60, 105 and 200 macro, fish-eye 16, 17-35, 20 and 80-200. I am currently using a Seacam housing for Nikon D200, Nikkor 10.5mm f/2.8G ED DX fisheye, with two flashes and a Subtronic Diving Subal flash for Nikon SB-800.
