Sampaguita Resort - Moalboal - Cebu - Filippine
December 2006 - January 2007 have already spent nearly two weeks since our last trip to Moalboal, Cebu Island, one of eleven major islands that make up the Philippine archipelago, located between the Pacific Ocean, the Sea and the Celebes South China Sea. The Sampaguita Resort was the system we have chosen, a small paradise for sea lovers, diving and nature.
It lies on the southwest coast of Cebu island, including huts and houses isolated farmers and fishermen, and precisely in Tongo Point, an arm of the promontory of Moalboal, the place chosen for fifteen years ago by Sergio Forti, a diving instructor in Rome, which decided to leave Italy and live in the simplicity of this wonderful piece of the world. The small village is made up of simple bungalows, raised from ground level, constructed of wood and coconut fiber according to local style, in harmony and well integrated into the surrounding tropical gardens composed of palm trees rustling in the wind,
directly overlooking a beautiful mirror of turquoise crystal clear water ...
The 17 rooms all with sea view, therefore, are simple and clean with hardwood floors and wall panels of woven coconut fiber plant fully waterproof roof, all with private bathrooms, hot and cold, simple but functional furniture, fan blades to the ceiling, mini minibar and veranda with a sofa and chairs where we spent the last minutes of the day in the company of new friends met.
Treat the room, really useful for us, was the mythical Folding tables lined with surface slip and shockproof material, illuminated by dichroic guidelines, the care and maintenance of photographic equipment!
Really excellent cuisine, mainly seafood, always accompanied by homemade bread every day and extra virgin olive oil. Menu consists of a diverse assortment of local dishes such as soups, vegetables, chicken, fried dumplings and Italian-style dishes such as spaghetti evening always like the pizzas and the eggplant parmigiana. A portion of fresh fruit (pineapple and mango) and a good espresso or a cup of hot tea are served at the conclusion of every meal! Fantastic also the New Year's Eve dinner with even the sausage and lentils at midnight, panettone and sparkling wine for the toast!

The diving program of the day consists of two boat dives, one in the morning after breakfast, return to the Resort for lunch, and one in the afternoon. In addition, there is also the possibility of unlimited diving system from the ground with a couple and this leads to the inevitable temptation to make even a dive on the wall in front of the resort (House Reef), just dropped the sun, toward the 18.00: I expect a spectacular night, full of color, crowded with wonderful and amazing beasts who wake up just at sunset.
Another "work" very interesting that you can play hard on the Sampaguita Resort is to indulge in the wonderful and really refreshing massage of 45 minutes and costs about 7 , so that they can also do every day of the holiday.
Single little flaw of this holiday was the weather rather variable, however, given the particular position in the Moalboal, in any case protected by large disturbances from strong winds and beating the surrounding islands, we were fine and we never had waive dive.
And finally we send a warm greeting to all the new friends met here: the legendary Sergio Forti owner of Sampaguita, the family's Mandaletti composed Pierangeli, Paolo, Martina and Francesca, and the brothers Antidio and Paolo Rossi, Lorella and Mark; Rosanna and Andrew , Alessia and Simone's family of Parma, Gianni, Andrea, a dentist; large DM Alejo, Rene and Mario, "Best of all is the" very good photographer Denis Palbiani and individual world champion of underwater photography 2005.
