Martina Gambirasi was born in Italy, in Genoa, a lovely city overlooking the Sea, the 16th April 1974.

Freediver fisherman and Underwater photographer’s daughter Martina grew-up surrounded by divers developing over the years a growing passion for the Sea and for its immeasurable wonders.

Nature and sport lovers, in the '80s, for about ten years, Martina has been leading youth skiing National rankings.

Mechanical engineer in every day’s life she’s a diver since ’99, diving enthusiast in all the oceans of the World, with the desire to explore and share, through his photographs and her website SCUBACQUEANDO, special and unexplored places seldom visited by tourist --> (http://www.scubacqueando.com).

Martina use to collaborate with several Underwater World related National magazines and also with many websites specialized in travels, diving and Underwater Photography.

She loves to travel and this feeling has led her to explore many countries and their Underwater sites: from Brazil to Costa Rica, from Australia to French Polynesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Maldives, and also Egypt, Sudan, Saudi Arabia.

Martina started shooting Underwater photographs in freedive in 2000; since 2007 she participates in Underwater Photo Safari FIPSAS (Italian Underwater activities federation) extemporaneous Competitions, (Compact Camera Ara Category), achieving very good results. Photo Safari consists into "capture" with the camera more and more different Fish species. Starting from 2008 Martina Joined Underwater Photography Competition as-well again with encouraging results.

Since 2008 she’s “Club Azzurro” Italian National team of Underwater Photo Safari member.

Martina is PADI Divemaster and Federal Technical of Underwater Photography.

In 2010 Martina began her Underwater model career with Francesco Visintin; together they won Italian Underwater Photography Championship, Reflex Individual Category.

At the present time Martina is engaged with Prof. Angelo Mojetta in preparing a book on Underwater Photo Safari containing a detailed description of the 160 most common species of Mediterranean Fish (expected publication in 2011).

Her Dream: the construction of a small Eco Resort specialized for Underwater photographers in the archipelago of Raja Ampat, Papua, Indonesia.
